On 8 June 2017, our Managing Partner Pham Ba Linh had a speaking engagement with AmCham Vietnam in HCMC on Vietnam renewable energy from regulatory and policy standpoints and market outlook for growth and investment in 2017.

The presentation highlights Government support through feed-in tariffs and other incentive programs for intermittent renewable generation.

Renewables master planning in the Revised PDP 7, EVN’s offtake obligations, grid connection issues, risk allocation for a bankable power purchase agreement (PPA), termination payments, practicality of direct corporate PPAs and creditworthiness of EVN were amongst key topical issues discussed.

Opportunities and challenges in the development and financing of utility-scale solar, offshore and onshore wind, biomass and waste-to-energy assets were also be analysed.
